Navidium partners with investment firm Momentum

Maritime cleantech company Navidium has signed a new strategic partnership with Norwegian investment firm Momentum Partners, to further support the development of Navidium’s digital systems for the marine sector.

“We are excited to add Momentum’s expertise and values to ours,” said Arto Koistinen, Navidium CEO.

“This partnership will support our ambition to become the global leading provider of digital services for the maritime sector. Together, we are out to prove a point: efficient operations and environmental concerns can be brought together to reduce costs and to comply with international regulations.”

Founded in 2013, Navidium has been working with Bernhard Schulte software subsidiary MariApps Marine Solutions since 2017, with whom it entered a joint co-development agreement in 2019. The firm has also worked with Damen Group and the European Space Agency over the last three years.

“This is a great opportunity to support a highly scalable solution, already successfully deployed by an ambitious team, aiming to deliver safe, secure, efficient, and clean shipping services,” said Arve Janbu Fresvik, Managing Partner at Momentum.

“Momentum, which is backed by the Odfjell family in Norway, is glad to join forces with Navidium to promote sustainable and sensible innovation in the maritime sector.”

Momentum is also an investor in ScanReach, a provider of onboard wireless connectivity technology for the maritime industry that is used to enable IoT applications onboard ship.
