Nereus Digital Bunkers, based in Greece, has launched a new platform for bunker procurement management, aiming to support data-driven decision making in the bunker purchasing process.
Development of the NEREUS platform has been based on functionality in three core areas, according to the company – market research, using indication prices, a bunker matrix optimisation tool and oil forecasting; inquiry negotiation; and post fixture processes, incorporating automatic documentation, invoice monitoring, and bunker task reminders.
The system offers oil price forecasting in real-time based on analysis of the data available to suggest the most suitable port for the completion of the bunker procurement process, at the right time and with the right supplier.
“By identifying that the maritime industry was facing a gap regarding the access and proper utilisation of data, and keeping in mind that more and more shipping companies look forward to becoming digital, we created a maritime software that aspires to become the number one choice in the global maritime industry by improving and modernising the bunker procurement process,” said Nikolas Gkikas, CEO and founder of Nereus Digital Bunkers.
“We focus on the efficiency and, with all the technology and trends of the market, we create an efficient and cost-effective solution that maximises value for our customers.”
