Nexus Ocean AI gets $400k in new funding from Tradeworks.vc

Singapore-based Nexus Ocean AI reports that it has received $400,000 in new funding from venture capital firm Tradeworks.vc.

Nexus Ocean AI delivers generative artificial intelligence (genAI) personas for maritime clients, augmented by a Maritime Language Model, that interact with knowledge graphs across the customer’s internal and external data silos – including mailboxes.

The technology is deployed and trained on the user’s own V-Net, providing data privacy and security by design, with the system having earned the company recent spots in Google Trailblazers, Microsoft Founders Hub, and the PIER 71 Incubator by the Maritime & Port Authority of Singapore. Tradeworks.vc is a PIER71 VC Partner.

“With Tradeworks.vc we found a partner that really understands the maritime sector, what we’re working to accomplish, and the challenges we face,” said Shail Barthwal, Founder and CEO of Nexus Ocean AI.

“They always have time for us, provide a steady stream of potential customers, and even a platform to manage our Angel investors. So much more than capital.”

The deal marks Tradeworks.vc’s sixteenth investment in supply chain and logistics technology in the just over three years since the venture capital firm was founded in 2021.

“There’s a huge talent gap in shipping, and the people we manage to attract and retain end up drowning in grunt work. It’s not uncommon to have to read over 1,000 emails per day to ensure no important information is missed,” said Niklas Holck, Founder and CEO of Tradeworks.vc.

“With Nexus Ocean, emails are summarised, prioritised, and replies are drafted, in multiple languages even. Complex processes like crew changes, maintenance plans and drydockings can be automated. Accidents can be managed correctly without delay, and the time saved spent on preventing future accidents.”

“This single solution just solves so many big problems, and the customers love it.”
