Hanwha Ocean partners with ABS to explore new tech projects

Hanwha Ocean has partnered with classification society ABS on an agreement to explore new technology projects focusing on sustainability, digitalisation and artificial intelligence, and cybersecurity for operational technology.

The agreement also aims to support the commercialisation of a range of new green retrofit products and services for the offshore sector, such as carbon capture, wind assistance, electrification and energy efficiency measures.

“As part of the same team, ABS and Hanwha Ocean have resources and expertise to accelerate innovation and embed our technology developments within execution and operations,” said Philippe Levy, President, Offshore Business, Hanwha Ocean.

“This agreement will structure our ambition to propose safe, sustainable, and affordable energy for opportunities ahead, especially for strategic clients developing world-class reservoirs with low break-evens and low carbon intensity.”
