ICT Group acquires logistics software company Modality

ICT Group has acquired 100% of the shares of Modality Software Solutions, a company specialising in IT systems for intermodal container logistics.

Modality, based in Barendrecht in the Netherlands, provides software for transport management (TMS) and container terminal operations (TOS), including integrated interfaces with key players in the intermodal chain, such as sea terminals, shipping companies, customs, and Portbase.

The company serves inland terminals and a range of barge, rail, and truck operators.

“We see the step to become part of the ICT Group as a huge opportunity to further strengthen our ambitions within the market, where we already operate as a market leader,” said Jan Sekeris, managing director of Modality.

“We know ICT Group as a highly professional and technically skilled party with a no-nonsense mentality that fits in very well with ours. This acquisition offers the opportunity to further professionalise and expand the services to our customers.”

The acquisition is part of an ICT Group strategy to grow its presence in focus markets, including logistics. Financial details of the deal were not disclosed.
