ThreatScene maritime cybersecurity framework gets BV approval

Bureau Veritas Marine & Offshore (BV) has issued an endorsement of the MARINE cybersecurity framework developed by ThreatScene SA, offering formal recognition of the system as a practical methodology to support maritime cyber risk management.

Developed in collaboration with the Hellenic Chamber of Shipping, the MARINE framework provides guidance on cyber resilience across vessel operations, port infrastructure, and interconnected systems, offering a reference for maritime organisations seeking to align cybersecurity practices with industry standards.

The framework is available as a handbook and includes a free online self-assessment platform. Users can benchmark their cybersecurity maturity, identify gaps, and generate tailored recommendations to guide improvements.

Under the agreement, ThreatScene will continue to maintain and update the framework, with BV providing oversight to ensure ongoing alignment with regulatory changes, including upcoming IACS cybersecurity requirements. Both companies will also collaborate on workshops supporting the next revision of the methodology.
