Lloyd’s List Intelligence has updated its Seasearcher Trade Risk platform with new capabilities designed to detect trade finance fraud, expanding on the system’s original launch in 2024.
The latest improvements introduce transaction-level validation for both container and bulk shipments, allowing users to identify suspicious patterns across ports, vessels, goods, and counterparties.
The update includes extended Bill of Lading coverage, validation of counterparty names and addresses, and AI-powered recommendations for HS code classification.
Users can now apply customised price screening thresholds, upload internal goods watchlists, and set up 24-hour automated re-screening to track changing risk profiles. A collaborative review system and audit trail functionality are also included to support internal compliance processes. For complex documentation, transhipment analysts are available to provide verification within 24 hours.
“By expanding our capabilities to cover all trade modes and offering comprehensive validation of shipments, counterparties, and goods, we’ve created a single platform that instantly screens for major trade fraud indicators,” said Michael Dell, CEO, Lloyd’s List Intelligence.
“This enables our clients to prevent fraud, protect their reputation, maintain compliance, and significantly reduce the time and resources needed to conduct thorough due diligence.”
