Kaiko Systems has launched a new product, Kaiko CharterReady, to support bulk shipping charterers in managing cargo hold inspections through a centralised platform and mobile app.
The system aims to reduce the risk of cargo hold rejection by improving inspection workflows, providing real-time insights, and simplifying the process for both crews and charterers.
CharterReady analyses inspection data using AI to identify potential issues such as residue, hatch cover damage, corrosion and cracks before loading. Kaiko says the system can replace traditional Excel-based reports with a digital dashboard, offering an overview of cargo hold status, inspection history and preparation progress across the fleet.
The mobile-first workflow guides crews through standardised processes, allowing them to capture images and submit reports directly from their devices.
Onboard inspections are backed up by Kaiko’s AI assistant KAI, to ensure data consistency and provide charterers with a full visual record of hold conditions, along with crew feedback. Reports can be shared with cargo owners and reviewed by teams ashore in real time.
“From our discussions with charterers it was clear that what they required was less time chasing paperwork and more time making decisions based on reliable data,” said Fabian Fussek, CEO and Co-Founder of Kaiko Systems.
“Our solution eliminates the guesswork and empowers charterers to manage cargo readiness with confidence and speed.”
