Maris Investments launched with eye on maritime tech acquisitions

Chicago-based private equity firm GTCR has announced the formation of Maris Investments, a new maritime technology company created in partnership with industry executive Manish Singh.

Maris will target acquisitions in the maritime software and services sector to develop a platform focused on improving operational workflows and supporting digital transformation across the industry.

Mr Singh will serve as CEO and invest alongside GTCR in the new business, having more than 30 years of maritime experience, including time at sea as a Master Mariner and senior roles ashore.

He most recently led Ocean Technologies Group as CEO and was previously Group Managing Director – Corporate Development at V.Group.

“I am excited to partner with GTCR to build Maris into a leading technology provider for the maritime industry,” said Mr Singh.

“Our vision is not just centered around digitising workflows – we aim to redefine how maritime workforces and fleets adopt integrated technology and harness data to improve performance, safety and compliance. This partnership is about transforming how future fleets are operated and governed.”

GTCR is has invested more than $30 billion in over 280 companies since its founding.
