Captain’s Eye secures new investment

Captain’s Eye reports that it has completed a Series A funding round with new strategic investors including Eastern Pacific Shipping (EPS), MOL PLUS, and The Caravel Group.

The three companies collectively own or manage more than 1,700 vessels and will support the scaling of Captain’s Eye’s AI-powered video analytics system, used to improve vessel safety.

The technology monitors video feeds to detect anomalies including smoke, leakages, security breaches and unsafe behaviour, providing alerts in real time.

The funding will also be used to extend the technology into ports and land-based operations, the firm notes.

“This round brings more than funding. It brings partners who understand what’s at stake and what’s possible,” said Uri Ben Dor, CEO of Captain’s Eye.

“With their backing, we’re accelerating the development of our next-generation solutions and scaling our support for vessels and crews globally, as well as entering new domains like ports and land-based critical facilities.”
