Unimed adds testing services to maritime medical platform

Unimed reports it has acquired Elssi Maritime Services to integrate Elssi’s drug, alcohol and environmental testing capabilities into Unimed’s digital maritime medical platform.

Elssi, based in Greece and Cyprus, provides drug and alcohol testing, drinking water analysis and benzene testing to the shipping sector. These services will be integrated into Unimed’s platform to allow vessel operators to manage compliance, reporting and health services through a unified digital interface.

Unimed says the integration will improve data visibility and consistency across its Medscale Digital Platform, enabling operators to track testing results alongside other health and safety requirements.

The combined business now supports approximately 18,000 vessels globally, providing digital access to medical equipment, pharmaceutical products, testing services and compliance documentation across ports.

Elssi founder Panagiotis Stamatopoulos, who joins Unimed as Managing Director, welcomed the opportunity to make Elssi’s testing services available alongside a broader range of digital health and safety tools.
