Austal USA has selected SSI’s ShipbuildingPLM product lifecycle management system to extend its digital transformation programme across naval and commercial shipbuilding projects.
The decision builds on an existing relationship between the two companies, with Austal USA having used SSI’s ShipConstructor software since 2005.
The ShipbuildingPLM platform is intended to provide a configuration-managed digital thread across multiple vessel programmes, supporting data-driven decision-making and improved control of shipbuilding processes.
The system will act as a single source of truth for vessel data, linking design, production and programme management across Austal USA’s portfolio.
