Marlink has announced improvements to its cloud services through the Microsoft ExpressRoute programme, which will allow maritime customers to extend on-premises networks to Microsoft cloud platforms directly over secured connectivity and global Points of Presence (PoP).
The integration allows users to access Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 through dedicated connectivity integrated with the multi-orbit satellite networks provided by Marlink.
According to the company, the system will offer improved application performance with more predictable latency and reduced packet loss compared to routing over the public internet.
“This integration enables our customers to consume Microsoft cloud services as an extension of their private networks, with the performance and security required for business-critical applications,” said Carlos Carbajal, Chief Product Officer at Marlink.
“By bringing the cloud closer to remote and distributed environments, we remove traditional connectivity barriers, enabling customers to accelerate cloud adoption and digital transformation with Marlink as their trusted managed service partner.”
