Quvia has announced the launch of Quvia Sync, a technology designed for large-scale data synchronisation between edge and cloud environments.
The tool enables companies in network-constrained sectors such as maritime to move data efficiently without disrupting operations or Quality of Experience (QOE), while meeting data Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and managing connectivity costs.
Quvia Sync optimises choices of what data moves, when, and how, based on application needs and operational priorities. In testing on a maritime vessel, the company says that the system demonstrated the ability to transfer up to 1 terabyte of data in 24 hours while meeting defined data SLAs without increasing connectivity costs.

The system integrates multi-vendor, on-premises data sources to capture metadata and understand context. It continuously evaluates network conditions and available capacity to determine when and where data should move, selecting the optimal path across any combination of providers and network types.
This includes dynamic path optimisation to transfer data across lowest-cost paths using idle bandwidth windows, and context-aware prioritisation to identify time-sensitive data. It also provides operational visibility into synchronisation status and performance to support predictable operations.
Quvia Sync is currently available to select customers, with broader availability planned for later this year.
