Awake.AI and Tidalis have announced a partnership focused on linking operational port-call data with existing maritime systems to support automated reporting in line with international regulations.
The partnership integrates emissions monitoring software from Awake.AI with the Vessel Traffic Services (VTS) and port management systems provided by Tidalis. This combination aims to allow ports, terminals, and shipping companies to monitor and manage data across their operations, turning port-call, vessel, and fuelling data into automated Scope 1–3 emissions reports.
The initiative is designed to help users meet increasing obligations linked to FuelEU Maritime, the European Union Emissions Trading System (EU ETS), and the decarbonisation targets set by the International Maritime Organization (IMO).
“You cannot decarbonise what you cannot measure. The challenge is turning that data into reliable and auditable emissions reporting that supports both compliance and operational decision-making,” said Karno Tenovuo, Chief Executive Officer of Awake.AI.
The rollout of the technology will begin in European ports this year to assist with Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) requirements. Projects in the Asia-Pacific, Middle East, and the Americas are scheduled to follow during 2026 and 2027.
