The Port of Drammen, with terminal operations provided by Greenport Services, is to implement Portchain Connect to support berth alignment with shipping lines.
The system will provide Greenport Services with real-time schedule and move count updates from carrier systems, allowing the terminal to respond to changes and counterpropose berth windows.
“Efficient planning and close collaboration with shipping lines are essential to delivering reliable port operations,” said Øystein Amundsen, Ships Agent at Jas Worldwide Norway.
“Portchain Connect gives us greater visibility throughout the berth planning process, enabling our teams to coordinate vessel calls more effectively and provide a more predictable service for our customers.”
Portchain Connect is designed to allow terminals and carriers to exchange schedule and berthing information digitally, replacing manual communication and reducing delays in information transmission.
“As one of Norway’s leading freight hubs, the Port of Drammen plays an important role in regional and international supply chains,” said Thor Thorup, CCO & Co-Founder at Portchain.
“We look forward to working with the Greenport Services team to support efficient berth planning and strong collaboration with shipping lines.”
