Cargo Care Solutions launches container utilisation software

Cargo Care Solutions has launched CSA Software, a tool designed to help users assess and optimise container securing systems for newbuildings and existing vessels.

The software evaluates the complete container securing system, taking into account hatch covers, lashing equipment and configurations, lashing bridges and the vessel’s operational limits.

For newbuildings, the analysis can be used during the design process to determine container securing arrangements based on vessel capacity, intended trades and compliance requirements.

For existing vessels, Cargo Care Solutions can combine the software analysis with inspections of hatch covers, lashing bridges and existing lashing patterns to identify blocked container positions, unused fittings and configurations that limit capacity.

The resulting analysis can be used to assess revised arrangements or structural upgrades aimed at increasing container capacity and improving stowage efficiency while maintaining safe operating limits.

“Owners and operators are under pressure to make every container slot count, but capacity only has value if the securing arrangement can support it safely and reliably,” said Peter Peltenburg, CEO, Cargo Care Solutions.

“A vessel may appear to have space available, but the real question is whether the hatch covers, lashing bridges, fittings and lashing pattern work together within the vessel’s operational limits.”
