The 2026 Smart Maritime Network Singapore conference brings together the people shaping the next wave of digital transformation, data standards, AI and sustainability across one of the world’s most dynamic maritime hubs.
This year’s programme focuses on connection - human, digital, and operational - with sessions exploring how collaboration, interoperability and data intelligence are building smarter, greener maritime networks. From predictive AI for disruption management and resilient digital systems, to leadership, inclusion and crew wellbeing, the discussions will reflect Singapore’s role as a living lab for innovation and impact.

What helped adoption, what proved harder than expected, and what would they do differently next time?
The discussion will explore:
• From trial to rollout: What evidence justified expansion, and what remained uncertain?
• Ownership and accountability: Who owns the budget and results after the initial project?
• Implementation realities: Which integration, cyber assurance, training or support requirements were underestimated?

Panel 2 - From air to sea: connecting the passenger journey 12:05What can maritime passenger terminals learn from aviation’s experience of moving people through busy, complex transport hubs? This discussion brings together airport and maritime perspectives to explore how shared infrastructure, self-service processing and digital identity could improve terminal operations and the journey between air and sea.
The panel will examine which approaches transfer well, where maritime requirements differ, and how airports, terminals, transport operators and authorities can work together to reduce repeated processes and make connections easier for passengers.
The discussion will explore:
• Learning from aviation: Which approaches to passenger processing and terminal operations could make the greatest difference in maritime?
• Sharing infrastructure: How could common-use systems support multiple operators while accommodating their different needs?
• Simplifying the passenger journey: Where can self-service and digital identity reduce queues and repeated checks, and where is personal assistance still essential?
• Connecting air and sea: What information, coordination and agreements are needed to improve the handover between airport and maritime terminal?

Roundtable Discussion Groups – Hosted by our Partners 14:15Each table will focus on a unique topic centred around the Smart Maritime Network goal of establishing better collaboration and standardisation in maritime technology. The roundtable discussions will take place simultaneously with each table host then asked to summarise their discussions for the whole room, to ensure that all participants get the most from their attendance. Panel 3 - One shipment, many systems: making digital trade work 16:05Electronic bills of lading and digital trade documents promise faster transactions, less administration and more reliable information. But making them work requires agreement across shipping companies, cargo owners, freight forwarders, banks and authorities.
How do we connect those participants and turn individual digital processes into a transaction that works from start to finish? Drawing on the FIT Alliance’s work and practical adoption experiences, this discussion will examine where progress is being made, where transactions still fall back to paper, and what needs to change next.
The discussion will explore:
• From commitment to everyday use: What is persuading businesses to adopt electronic bills of lading, and what still holds them back?
• Connecting different systems: Can documents and data move between organisations using different platforms without repeated entry or manual workarounds?
• Getting everyone on board: What happens when the carrier is ready but the customer, bank or another trading partner is not?
• Building trust: What gives participants confidence in a digital document’s authenticity, control and acceptance across borders?
• Showing the commercial value: Where are businesses seeing faster processing, fewer errors or lower costs—and what should an operator do first?
