ClassNK hull design software updated

ClassNK has released the latest version of its PrimeShip-HULL (HCSR) design support software, with the new version 6.0.0 having been developed to meet the IACS Common Structural Rules for Bulk Carriers and Oil Tankers (CSR BC & OT), incorporating the latest rule amendments.

The update has also seen new functions added or improved in the prescriptive calculation software and direct strength assessment software, the class society says.

The improved calculation report function found in the prescriptive calculation software makes it possible to create reports for multiple sectional data all at once, and also allows users to change the output settings to enable the sorting of reports by section, evaluation item, or by other parameters.

Data integration with 2D CAD systems has also been improved, to allow users to more easily load the sectional data of outside cargo parts, while the direct strength assessment software has added a ‘Zooming Analysis’ function, for design examination and strength evaluation with partial models cut from hold models.

The mesh refinement function found in the direct strength assessment software has been additionally updated to allow better mesh quality, to create higher quality meshes even for complex structures.
