SRH Marine has confirmed that vessel management company Navios Shipmanagement Inc, part of the Navios Group, has become the first shipping company to sign up to implement its Delta Fleet Platform, used to provide real-time ECDIS chart updates over Inmarsat’s FleetBroadband service.

All of Navios’s 160 tankers, bulker and container vessels will implement the Delta Fleet system, which includes chart updates, publications and Notices to Mariners. The platform uses a newly developed FleetBroadband APN to provide the updates on demand but without impacting the vessel’s primary bandwidth service.

“The SRH Delta Platform will allow us to advance e-Navigation in our vessels and minimise associated risks through secure, direct LAN connectivity and higher reliability,” said Angeliki Frangou, Chairman and CEO of the Navios Group.

“We have been performing beta tests of the application on two of our vessels, over a period of four months, with great success and we are now confident to proceed with the installation of the solution into our 160 tanker, bulk and container vessels.”
