Intellian releases 1.25m Ku-Ka band convertible antenna

Intellian has released the latest model in its NX Series of antennas, introducing a Ku-Ka band convertible VSAT terminal with a 1.25-metre reflector for the first time.

The v130NX supports Ku-band and Ka-band (2.5 GHz Wide) networks, and is also compatible with GEO (Geostationary Earth Orbit), MEO (Medium Earth Orbit) and LEO (Low Earth Orbit) constellations.

Similar to other NX Series antennas, the v130NX can be converted from Ku-band to Ka-band by changing the Radio Frequency (RF) Assembly and Feed, as the reflector and radome are already configured for operation across both frequency bands.

The new unit comes with high-power BUC options up to 40 W, and has a built-in ‘smart satellite handover capability’ enabled by integral mediator and orbit-agnostic tracking proficiency technologies.

Installation can be carried out using a single cable, which combines Tx, Rx, and DC power, with configuration handled by Intellian’s AptusNX interface, which provides remote access to the equipment.

“With lower total cost of ownership and incredible performance, the v130NX offers the quality and reliability that our customers demand for better crew and guest connectivity, as well as digital vessel operations and fleet management,” said Eric Sung, CEO of Intellian.
