EQUIMAR to implement performance optimisation applications on tugboat fleet

Mexico-based tugboat operator EQUIMAR has agreed a deal to implement the SERTICA fleet management software system from Logimatic on its tugs, to aid in performance optimisation for its fleet operating in Latin America.

Modules for maintenance, procurement and HSQE will be deployed across a fleet currently consisting of five tugboats operating from Puerto Progreso Yucatan in Mexico. Implementation of phase one of the project is expected to be completed by March 2020.

“We have chosen the Danish supplier Logimatic because they are well known in the tug-boat business,” explained José Salomón López Juárez, Operations Manager at EQUIMAR.

“They are known for their professional approach and focus on creating long-term relationships. We expect that SERTICA will improve our overall performance and ship management in our day-to-day business and in relation to external audits. Especially the module in SERTICA called Management Systems will assist us in ensuring high standards and stability.”
