ESChat Push-to-Talk integrated on Thales Certus terminals

ESChat, a provider of Push-to-Talk (PTT) communications services over GSM networks, has added satellite functionality to its portfolio through a new deal with Thales, which will see PTT connectivity integrated into Thales VesseLINK terminals for communication via Iridium Certus.

Satellite connected ESChat users will be able to communicate with ESChat PTT users on other wireless networks, who most typically use the service on mobile devices.

Shipboard users will be able to access ESChat using standard Android smartphones and tablets that are connected through ThalesLINK WiFi to the onboard terminal.

“We’re very excited about our partnership with ESChat,” said Brian Aziz, Vice President Satcom Solutions at Thales.

“We believe that our solutions will enable Push-To-Talk users worldwide to achieve more, faster. We look forward to a long-lasting relationship with ESChat that will ultimately empower our customers to achieve their biggest ambitions.”
