Sea Swift adds IoT to reefer container fleet

Northern Australia’s largest shipping company Sea Swift has agreed a deal with Globe Tracker to implement internet of things (IoT) devices for monitoring of its refrigerated container fleet.

The GT-Sense reefer system will provide Sea Swift with visibility and control of its reefer assets and their current status, along with local area network connectivity allowing in-cargo sensing data to be collected for cargo condition monitoring.

“Sea Swift is committed to providing the best-in-class service to its customers. Globe Tracker is completely aligned with our vision and have demonstrated their capabilities not only in the technology, but also in their care and attention to our very high service standards,” said Sea Swift Acting Chief Executive Officer Lino Bruno.

Globe Tracker’s devices have already been installed on a limited number of Sea Swift newbuilds over the course of the past month, with the rest of the retrofit fleet expected to be installed with the technology in the coming weeks.

“We are extremely pleased to welcome Sea Swift to the Globe Tracker family. We look forward to further projects and integrations with such a forward-thinking partner,” said Chris Laskaris, Vice President of Sales, Globe Tracker.
