Korean engine manufacturer HSD Engine is to offer ABB’s diagnostics and advisory software Tekomar XPERT to shipowners operating its two-stroke and four-stroke marine engines, providing digital operational optimisation support directly from delivery.
The Tekomar XPERT platform can be applied to any engine and aims to create fuel savings and greenhouse gas emission reductions by keeping the engines running at the highest efficiency level possible.
The software also connects to a fleet web application to allow vessel managers to benchmark and optimise engine performance across fleets with multiple engine types.
HSD Engine, previously known as Doosan Engine, delivers between 90-100 engines each year. Under the new agreement with ABB, the company will now offer the Tekomar XPERT software as an optional add-on to shipowners when purchasing its equipment.
