The Baltic Exchange has agreed a data partnership with software company Vortexa, which will see Baltic Exchange freight pricing benchmark data made available alongside Vortexa analytics in the company’s applications.
Vortexa’s systems provide a forward view of tonnage supply up to 35 days ahead, along with real-time tonne-mile demand data. The technology is used by clients including trading houses, shipowners and oil majors.
The integration of Baltic Exchange freight prices with Vortexa’s supply and demand freight analytics will allow users to better identify and optimise opportunities in the freight markets, the company said.
“It’s the first time that predictive and real-time freight analytics and pricing are brought this close,” said Fabio Kuhn, Vortexa CEO.
“This unparalleled view will unlock an immense competitive edge to market participants in a fast-evolving playing field.”
