MariApps buys cruise software company OnboarD

Maritime software company MariApps reports that it has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire a majority stake in US-based OnboarD, a provider of applications for the cruise industry.

Under the terms of the agreement, MariApps, part of the Schulte Group, will acquire 60% of the shares in OnboarD, while existing shareholders Chris Daly and Jimmy Lopez will retain the remaining shares and continue to lead the company.

MariApps and OnboarD have obtained a new office space in Miami, Florida, where they will be located together with other Schulte Group entities, including cruise software firm Rescompany Systems (Resco). All of the Group companies will collaborate on offering their various maritime products.

“MariApps is delighted to add OnboarD to our portfolio of companies as we find a good synergy between Resco and OnboarD, both focusing on the cruise market,” said Sankar Ragavan, CEO, MariApps Marine Solutions.

“This also opens the door for MariApps and Resco to expand their marketing and business development capabilities in the US, which is one of the largest markets for ship management and cruise operations.”
