Bureau Veritas to deploy digital twin pilots

Class society Bureau Veritas has announced that it will begin deploying digital twin pilots in conjunction with low-code platform Aras, to assess how they might be used to generate real-time data for classification processes.

The digital twin technology will be deployed to enable Bureau Veritas (BV) to create a single source of truth for each ship and asset, to ensure traceability of ship data and anticipate the evolution of regulatory requirements.

Data can be continuously updated from design to operations within the process, which will support an increase in collaboration opportunities with real time access to ship data, BV says.

“Through our collaboration with Aras, we are bringing major innovation to the maritime industry that will provide our customers with an advanced and enhanced digital experience for all types of services,” said Laurent Hentges, Vice President, Digital Solutions & Transformation, Bureau Veritas Marine & Offshore.

“We chose Aras Innovator for its flexibility and ability to adapt to our business needs. It will enable greater collaboration with our customers and facilitate data transfers and connections with our clients’ systems.”
