LR integrates Seably training data into software systems

Lloyd’s Register (LR) has agreed a new partnership deal with Seably, a marketplace for online maritime training, which will see the firms integrate their web-based systems to improve crew training and certificate management processes through the automated exchange of data.

The newly formed LR Digital Solutions division offers, among other software systems, Cloud Fleet Manager (CFM), which will now be able to automatically access data created within Seably online training applications.

These applications include a range of flag state-approved STCW courses, introduction courses, reflective learning how-to courses, and customer required training. All content can be accessed both via web-browsers or through native apps, allowing seafarers to autonomously take care of their training and respective certificates.

“Integration of systems and standardisation of data brings huge benefits to shipping companies,” said Martin Taylor, CEO of the LR Digital Solutions division.

“Instead of managing data manually in two separate systems, crew managers now only need to create information in one place which is then automatically available in both systems. This does not only free up time but additionally increases quality and reliability of data.”
