KVH opens up VSAT services to non-KVH antennas

KVH has announced a new initiative to allow users of VSAT antennas from other manufacturers to access its VSAT services and related applications, through the KVH ONE OpenNet Program.

Owners of Intellian, Cobham, and other antennas will now be able to access KVH’s HTS network via a software update, with no hardware exchange needed to subscribe to the service.

“The KVH ONE OpenNet Program enables both leisure and commercial vessel owners to maximise their investment in their current onboard satcom system, while taking advantage of the KVH ONE global high-throughput satellite (HTS) network,” said Mark Woodhead, KVH’s Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing.

“This new programme expands the airtime options available to customers. Fleets with terminals from multiple manufacturers will now enjoy a consistent airtime experience. Likewise, we’re delivering a new level of flexibility to OEMs that wish to install terminals during construction and permit their customers to select their preferred airtime upon delivery.”

Users will have access to the KVH Manager range of tools for application control and data usage alerts, as well as other software options including KVH’s Managed Firewall and Cloud Email.
