Hafnia upgrades paint maintenance with AI data analysis

Hafnia has completed the implementation of the SteelCorr Digital Paint Report (DPR) application on 57 of its ships to enhance its paint maintenance and reporting through improved data analysis.

The SteelCorr application uses Artificial Intelligence to assist Hafnia in collecting and analysing its data, and helps to automate reporting processes to reduce crew workload.

Hafnia will also employ DPR’s AI capabilities to monitor corrosion levels on board its ships, detecting issues and alerting staff to increased corrosion in specific areas.

“Digitalisation simplifies complex tasks, optimises performance, reduces costs, and maximises resource utilisation,” said Mikkel Boesen, VP Head of the Technically Outsourced Fleet at Hafnia.

“It is great to further Hafnia’s innovation and digitalisation ambitions to drive efficiencies across our operations.”

The software is expected to reduce paint wastage, improve transparency in data monitoring and extend asset lifespans, the company notes.
