ShipTracks buys maritime intelligence business from Oceaneering

Vessel tracking and analysis firm ShipTracks has announced that it has agreed a deal to acquire the Maritime Intelligence Division of Oceaneering, including its OceanSMART, TerminalSmart and PortVision360 offerings.

The company says that the move is part of a plan to create a central hub for cargo activity, with digitalised maritime applications for the management of product movements, from nomination to discharge.

“At ShipTracks, we envision a future where shipping and terminal management operations for the entire cargo value chain are seamlessly integrated into a single API-driven platform that equally delivers as your central resource for business intelligence,” said Charles Riley, President at ShipTracks.

“Our unified platform will usher in a new era of efficiency, interoperability, and data-rich insights to drive your business’s performance and profitability. As your ‘cargo hub’, the platform will connect stakeholders from harbour docking to oil and gas and streamline processes such as tracking a ship, creating a job, nominating a ship, vetting a ship, managing inspections, controlling demurrage, and reducing emissions.”

“With one login and interface, all of your tools will be housed under a single platform and share information with one another without the need to change code.”

The company notes that current customers of ShipTracks and the Oceaneering products can expect continued support of their existing systems, with all users, regardless of their role, set to benefit from the expanded range of tools available.
