Maritime start-up Nauticworx has launched its workboat availability platform, designed to provide a digital environment for chartering of regional workboats on the spot market.
The system only offers workboats in an 800 nm radius, to reduce wasted time and fuel when deploying vessels on the spot market, and keeps participants anonymous until they choose to share their details with other stakeholders.
“It’s great to see that the ideas we had a year ago have come to life – and go live – for which in part we have to thank our digital technology partner iQuality and John van Beek with whom we’ve been working so hard in the past months,” says Friso Visser, Co-Founder and Managing Director of Nauticworx.
“Also, I am very grateful to all the people in the chartering, brokerage, offshore construction, oil and gas, towage, supply, and wind energy sectors that advised and helped us define the most pressing needs of the industry, both as to asset availability and the related commercial processes.”
“All their feedback has been inserted in the platform, making it, we think, a truly valuable tool for those in need of a spot workboat or those with downtime on their hands.”
