Bunker trading firm Glander International Bunkering reports that it has introduced a new digital tool to calculate data for compliance with the FuelEU Maritime regulations that came into effect on January 1 this year.
The Compliance Calculator helps users to understand potential penalties and savings based on voyage type, fuel, and quantity, and is specifically designed for commercial vessels over 5,000 GT.
The simplified version supports MGO and VLSFO, while the full version can perform calculations for all fuel types. The software also highlights the benefits of certified biofuels to assist users in making sustainable choices.
The calculator has been built to adapt to any regulatory changes in the future, with the next update planned for 2030.
“As the industry adapts to new regulations, understanding the implications of fuel choices is crucial to operating efficiently and responsibly,” said Frederik Moser, Head of New Fuels, Glander International Bunkering.
