NMDC Group, a dredging and marine contractor in the Middle East, has agreed a five-year Lifecycle Agreement with Wärtsilä that will see the company deploy dynamic predictive maintenance to optimise the availability and efficiency of its fleet.
The agreement covers seven dredgers, with the option to expand to additional vessels. It includes a customised maintenance programme for engine and propulsion systems, digital tools, and performance guarantees aimed at increasing fleet uptime and reducing maintenance costs.
Wärtsilä estimates that its Expert Insight service, delivered via its global Expertise Centres, has the potential to deliver additional uptime that could increase NMDC’s vessels’ earning potential by up to €3 million. The contract also includes Dynamic Maintenance Planning, which is expected to reduce maintenance costs by 14%.
