Baltic Exchange and Veson update Baltic99 questionnaire

The Baltic Exchange and Veson Nautical have launched an updated version of the Baltic99 Questionnaire for dry bulk vessel vetting. The latest version expands data collection criteria to improve efficiency, enhance safety, and support sustainability efforts.

The Baltic99 Questionnaire allows owners and charterers to share standardised vessel information to streamline the vetting process and improve pre-fixture decision-making.

The updated version includes expanded sections on safety and sustainability, reflecting increasing industry demands for environmental and regulatory compliance. New data fields cover greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, energy efficiency ratings, NOx emissions compliance, and ballast water treatment systems.

“The Baltic99 Questionnaire remains the industry leading questionnaire for commercial fixtures in the dry bulk industry,” said Janet Sykes, Chief Commercial Officer at Baltic Exchange.

“This latest revision includes several key developments linked to important emissions-related data and enhanced safety requirements, to ensure charterers are hiring the right vessel for their needs and expedite the vessel acceptance process.”

“We are pleased to once again partner with Veson Nautical on the Baltic99 Questionnaire as we all work together to drive the maritime industry forward to a more sustainable and efficient future.”
