Crew transfer vessels add Sentry safety system

The first three vessels in the AIRCAT 35 Crewliner Series, designed for crew transfers in offshore industries such as wind farms and oil & gas installations, have been equipped with AI-powered Sentry systems from Sea.AI to deliver improved safety during operations.

The 35-metre vessels are capable of carrying up to 80 passengers and feature a ‘Surface Effect Ship’ (SES) design that uses fans to create an air cushion between their catamaran hulls and the water, reducing drag and resistance and allowing speeds of up to 53 knots.

Sea.AI’s Sentry system will provide 360-degree surveillance for the vessels, with thermal and optical sensors powering AI-driven object detection, target tracking, and collision avoidance.

The technology can automatically identify and classify a wide range of objects, including floating debris, rafts, buoys, non-AIS-equipped boats, and even persons overboard.
