Oceanly adds energy management application to software platform

Oceanly has introduced ECOPAC, a new system designed to optimise energy use in shipboard electrical systems by adjusting onboard electrical consumption based on real-time operational needs.

ECOPAC integrates automation, real-time monitoring, and predictive analytics to optimise electrical consumption in varying operational conditions while ensuring compliance with environmental regulations.

The system requires the installation of Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) at the equipment level, with a cable connecting the VFD to the control software. The software then adjusts motor speed based on load.

The company says ECOPAC can typically reduce energy consumption by over 60%, cutting CO2 emissions and minimising equipment wear.

“Our industry needs smarter, more efficient energy solutions that don’t just collect data but provide actionable insights.” said Frederik Lerche-Tornoe, CEO at Oceanly.

“With ECOPAC, we are empowering maritime operators to take control of their energy use, minimise their environmental impact, and achieve beneficial cost savings.”
