Saildrone has raised $60 million in new funding to expand the deployment of its autonomous maritime systems in Europe, with Denmark selected as the site for its new regional headquarters.
Saildrone’s uncrewed surface vehicles combine sensors and AI to monitor activity above and below the surface. The systems are designed for continuous operation in remote and harsh environments.
The investment round was led by the Export and Investment Fund of Denmark (EIFO), alongside existing investors Lux Capital, Washington Harbor Partners, Crowley, and Academy Securities, and new investor Pinegrove. The funding will support increased access to Saildrone’s maritime domain awareness technology across European waters, targeting both security and infrastructure monitoring applications.
Initial deployment will begin in June 2025, with four Saildrone Voyager units to be operated in the Baltic Sea under contract with the Danish Armed Forces.
