Pacific Basin Shipping has agreed a deal to install Inmarsat’s NexusWave connectivity service on an initial five vessels, as part of ongoing efforts to improve digital operations and crew welfare across its dry bulk fleet.
The Hong Kong-based operator will use the system to enhance ship-to-shore connectivity for business applications and seafarer access, supporting digital strategies focused on operational efficiency, regulatory compliance and improved communications.
NexusWave offers network bonding capabilities to maintain connections across multiple links, dynamically routing traffic to optimise performance.

Inmarsat reports that real-world testing of the system has demonstrated download speeds of up to 340 Mbps and upload speeds of up to 80 Mbps, with uptime exceeding 99.9%.
