GTT completes €194m Danelec acquisition

GTT has finalised its acquisition of maritime tech provider Danelec, adding the firm to GTT’s existing digital portfolio, which includes Ascenz Marorka and Vessel Performance Solutions to bring the Group’s installed base to more than 17,000 vessels.

Danelec’s technologies for data collection, analysis, and maritime safety will be integrated into GTT’s Digital division following the €194 million deal. GTT Digital will operate under two business units: Performance & Monitoring Solutions, and Safety & Equipment.

GTT says the expanded digital division will focus on delivering a single integrated platform to support real-time vessel monitoring, compliance, and optimisation, while continuing to invest in new digital tools aligned with maritime decarbonisation targets.

“With the acquisition of Danelec, GTT takes a decisive step forward in the digital sector. This transaction positions us as the world’s leading player in vessel performance management and enhances our ability to deliver advanced solutions for safety, efficiency, and decarbonisation,” said Philippe Berterottière, Chairman and CEO of GTT Group.

Casper Jensen, previously CEO of Danelec, has been appointed Executive Vice President Digital at GTT and joins the Group’s Executive Committee. Anouar Kiassi, CEO of Ascenz Marorka, will lead the Performance & Monitoring unit, while Danelec’s EVP Safety, Christian Kock, will head the Safety & Equipment business.

“By bringing together the strengths of Danelec, Ascenz Marorka, and Vessel Performance Solutions, we are creating a unified digital offering that empowers our customers to navigate their most pressing challenges, from operational performance to safety and decarbonisation,” said Mr Jensen.

“Our priority is to ensure continuity and deliver the high standards of innovation and service our clients expect, while accelerating the development of the industry’s leading digital platform.”
