Maritime software company Star Information Systems (SIS) has agreed a deal to acquire Sharecat, a provider of technology for managing and improving technical data quality in industrial operations.
SIS offers applications for maintenance, operations planning, procurement, logistics and data management. The company says the move will allow it to combine its systems with Sharecat’s expertise to support higher data quality and improved information control at lower cost.
“Sharecat is an ideal complement to STAR’s software and services, not only for maritime and energy customers, but also for the broader industrial market,” said Bernt Lilliestråle, CEO of STAR.
“By joining forces, we strengthen our ability to deliver where data quality is critical to ensuring the right maintenance is performed at the right time.”
Headquartered in Trondheim, Norway, SIS is majority-owned by the Longship fund.
