Mythos AI reports that its fully autonomous navigation system has now logged more than 17,500 kilometres in operation, executing more than 15,000 COLREGs-compliant interactions at speeds up to 30 knots.
The company says its Mythos Navigation (MNAV) system has travelled waterways including the Mississippi River, the Port of Savannah, and the ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach.
One recent trial saw its vessel Archie operate almost 1,300km in autonomous mode in the Houston–Galveston Ship Channel, completing 1,290 COLREGs-compliant interactions at an average speed of 21 knots.
Mythos AI has also launched an Advanced Pilot Assist System (APAS), designed to act as a decision-support tool for mariners. APAS has US Coast Guard approval to operate across US ports and harbours and is already in use on inland and coastal waterways, including the Mississippi River and Houston–Galveston Ship Channel.
“By proving our system in the toughest environments, we’ve built the system that both industry and defence have been waiting for,” said Geoff Douglass, CEO of Mythos AI.
