Borussia Dortmund football content coming to vessels

FrontM has partnered with German football club Borussia Dortmund (BVB) to bring a range of video content to commercial vessels.

The partnership will utilise FrontM’s Loft Multiplex maritime Internet Protocol Television (IPTV) technology to provide BVB video-on-demand programming. This includes club features and behind-the-scenes content designed for communal viewing in ship recreation rooms.

“For too long, the maritime industry has spoken about crew welfare without having scalable ways to deliver it onboard,” said Punit Oza, Chief Commercial Officer at FrontM.

“What crews often need are simple, meaningful moments that lift morale and create a sense of normal life at sea. By combining BVB’s global fan appeal with FrontM’s onboard platform technology, we are turning crew welfare from discussion into action.”

Beyond video content, the collaboration will introduce football-inspired interactive activities and training-style clinics. The initiative also explores opportunities for BVB matchday experiences for seafarers on shore leave in Europe, extending the connection from the ship to the shore.
