Seven new Petrobras Floating Production, Storage and Offloading (FPSO) units are to be installed with connectivity systems using the O3b mPOWER medium-Earth orbit (MEO) satellite network operated by SES.
The platforms are scheduled to enter operation in Brazil between 2026 and 2030.
The O3b mPOWER network, which has been operational since 2024, allows for high upload throughputs and the ability to shift capacity between links, supporting the large volumes of data generated by offshore operations.
