Seatrium signs development agreements with ABS and BV

Seatrium Technology and Innovation has signed a pair of Memoranda of Understanding (MOU) with class societies ABS and Bureau Veritas (BV) to advance innovation, regulatory alignment, and sustainable technologies across the maritime and offshore energy sectors.

The MOU with ABS establishes a framework for technical collaboration and knowledge exchange between the two organisations. Areas of focus include maritime decarbonisation, autonomous technologies, new energies, and advanced offshore infrastructure.

“This agreement positions ABS and Seatrium to work closely together at the intersection of innovation and regulation,” said Matthew Tremblay, Senior Vice President, Global Offshore at ABS.

“This is the latest step in our industry-leading technology collaboration with Seatrium that promises to make a real contribution to the safer application of next-generation technologies.”

Under the MOU with BV, the class society will provide technical guidance, compliance support and independent verification services to assist Seatrium in navigating technical requirements, regulatory frameworks and applicable international standards.

In addition, the cooperation will promote knowledge-sharing through collaborative workshops, technical briefings and training sessions, helping to build capabilities and accelerate the maturity of emerging technologies.

“This MOU establishes a framework for future cooperation and reinforces both organisations’ shared commitment to innovation, safety and sustainable progress across the marine and offshore industries,” said Drago Pinteric, Vice President, Marine & Offshore Southeast Asia, Bureau Veritas.
