Glaciar Pesquera fisheries fleet rolls out Inmarsat NexusWave

Glaciar Pesquera has completed a project with Inmarsat Maritime and its Argentinian partner Ingenieros Electrónicos Asociados (IEA) to implement the NexusWave connectivity service.

The roll-out is designed to support the fishing company’s fleetwide targets for greater operational efficiency and enhanced crew welfare on its factory vessels.

“Primarily, we were looking for a flat rate and high speeds to provide predictability and facilitate onboard digitalisation,” said Mauro Abbadie, Technical Manager (Supplies) at Glaciar Pesquera.

“NexusWave has fulfilled these expectations. Since its implementation, we have not experienced any issues; performance has been high, stable and seamless, helping to support our evolving operational and crew connectivity demands.”

The service provides continuous data synchronisation, allowing the factory vessels Atlantic Surf III and Capesante to function as extensions of the company’s headquarters and to support real-time coordination between ship and shore operations.

The service also provides seagoing personnel with unrestricted access to digital services for communication with friends and family. This support for seafarer well-being is intended to help Glaciar maintain its position as an attractive employer in the South American fishing market.
