Saronic has entered into a strategic partnership with Lloyd’s Register (LR) to scale deployment of autonomous maritime systems across the United Kingdom, Europe, and Australia.
Under the first-of-its-kind agreement for LR, the organisations will work together to establish practical rules, technical standards, and guidance for maritime autonomy, engaging with relevant regulators and authorities to ensure regulatory approaches keep pace with technological innovation.
Saronic will also pursue classification for its Autonomous Surface Vessels (ASVs) with LR. The classification society says it will support the verification and certification of the systems within recognised maritime frameworks.

The company has scaled its operations since its founding in 2022, backed by US$2.6 billion in private capital to support autonomous maritime systems development and expand production capacity.
The initiative builds on the ongoing work Saronic has done with the American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) to certify its platforms, extending these development efforts into British, European, and Australian markets.
