AD Ports ramps up connectivity capabilities to support AI processes

AD Ports Group has announced the deployment of a high-capacity terrestrial connectivity infrastructure across the company’s businesses to support real-time operational synchronicity as part of its digital transformation plan, designed to be artificial intelligence (AI) ready and linking major maritime and logistics assets across its portfolio.

The new network, delivered by e& UAE, extends the terrestrial digital backbone of AD Ports Group to more than 1,000 kilometres, connecting the company’s assets in Abu Dhabi. This will enable the continuous streaming of high-volume sensor data, video feeds, and Internet of Things (IoT) signals, creating a fully integrated environment ready for machine learning and automated decision-making.

Designed for ultra-low latency, the network is aimed at providing a foundation for AI models to process data and deliver real-time inference within milliseconds.

The initiative is the latest milestone in AD Ports Group ongoing digital transformation journey. In 2025, the company announced the phased rollout of Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite connectivity across its global operations, aimed at enabling real-time data exchange with vessels and delivering always-on connectivity for ports and terminals to drive new efficiencies and fuel savings.
