Fugro expands Singapore hub with marine digital twin

Fugro is expanding its activities in Singapore with the development of an AI-driven marine digital twin capability focused on offshore and coastal developments.

The platform will combine geophysical survey data, geotechnical site investigation results, laboratory data and imaging within a single digital analytics environment.

Fugro said the system will use AI and machine learning to automate data integration, interpretation and analysis across marine datasets, reducing the need for manual processing and disconnected workflows.

Fugro Singapore will serve as the launchpad for deployment across Asia Pacific, with the expansion supported by the Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB).

The company expects the initiative to create new roles in Singapore covering AI, data science and digital engineering as the platform scales.

Fugro’s Regional Line Director, Marine Site Characterisation Asia Pacific, Safri Drahman, said the initiative will help clients use marine geo-data to support offshore and coastal development decisions.

“As offshore projects become increasingly complex, the ability to turn data into actionable insights is more important than ever,” he said.

“This initiative represents an important step in advancing marine geo-data, helping clients make better-informed decisions while driving innovation from Singapore for regional and global markets.”
